‘Friends of Fiji’ to hold talks on People’s Charter
FRIENDS and former residents of Fiji living in US plan to hold discussions on the proposed People’s Charter for Change, Peace and Progress (PCCPP).
The move is spearheaded by Dr Narayan Raju, the Honorary Consul of Fiji, San Francisco.
Dr Raju has indicated he is looking at inviting community leaders and ‘friends of Fiji’ living in US for an informal discussion on the national initiative.
“I think this is the best way to get the people in USA involved,” Dr Raju said.
He says that many who have Fiji at heart would like to help in the process of taking Fiji forward.
The meeting is expected to be held sometimes in April.
The proposed People’s Charter for Change, Peace and Progress is a national initiative to ensure Fiji has sustainable democracy.
The Technical and Support Secretariat (TASS) of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, in welcoming Dr Raju’s call, is providing all the necessary assistance with information on PCCPP to help make the meeting a success.
TASS will also assist Fiji’s other Foreign Missions in educating and creating awareness on the proposed People’s Charter, at international level.
